NEOLESTES
(Pycnonotidae; Ϯ Black-collared Bulbul N. torquatus) Gr. νεος neos new, strange; λῃστης lēistēs robber (i.e. shrike) < λῃστευω lēisteuō to rob; "Neolestes torquatus novum gen. et nova sp. ... Der Vogel wird im Journal (Tab. I. fig. 1,) abgebildet. Er passt zu keiner der bekannten Gattungen und ist seine Unterbringung im Systeme etwas schwierig. Einstweilen dürfte er am besten, wie z. B. Calicalicus, als eine abweichende Form der Malaconotinen zu betrachten und in die Nähe dieser Gattung zu stellen sein." (Cabanis 1875); "Neolestes Cabanis, 1875, Journ. f. Orn., 23, p. 237.
