Marica, a river- or water-nymph); "MARECA.  WIGEON.   Generic Character.  Rostrum breve, basi inerme, subcylindricum, sublineare, apice ungue parvo instructo; mandibulæ lateribus  dentato-subserratis.  Nares parvæ, basales, ovales.
