(Pellorneidae; Ϯ Rufous-vented Grass-babbler L. burnesii) L. latus wide, broad (see Eurycercus); Mod. L. cilla tail (see Motacilla); "Laticilla, nobis (olim Eurycercus, J.A.S. XIII, 374, which name cannot be retained, as it was previously applied to a genus of Entomostraca by Dr. W. Baird, in the An. and Mag. Nat. Hist., February, 1843, p. 88)" (Blyth 1845). The birds in this genus were formerly known as prinias.
