(Megapodidae; Ϯ Moluccan Scrubfowl E. wallacei) Gr. ευ eu  fine, another; genus Lipoa Sundevall, 1872, mallee-fowl (i.e. megapode); unlike the Mallee-fowl, the Moluccan Scrubfowl is a communal burrow-nester;  "2. EULIPOA.  Head and neck feathered with the exception of a small space surrounding the eye which is mostly naked.  Nostrils oval.  Tail composed of 12 sharp-pointed feathers, the middle pair being the longest.  Upper tail-coverts much shorter than the tail-feathers.  1st primary intermediate in length between the 7th and 8th, and much longer than the 10th; 4th slightly the longest.  Secondaries much shorter than the primaries.  Tarsi and feet large; fore part of tarsus covered with a single row of scutes.  Range.
