(Fringillidae; Ϯ Oriole Finch L. olivaceus) Gr. λινον linon  flax; -ουργος -ourgos

worker  < εργον ergon  work. Reichenbach's 1850, plate LXXVIII, labelled Passerinae: Pyrrhulinae Coccothraustinae, shows the Oriole Finch with a variety of other heavy-billed finches and American buntings. "Linurgus Reichenbach, 1850, Av. Syst. Nat., pl. 78, fig. 9. Type, by monotypy, Coccothraustes olivaceus Fraser." (Rand in Peters 1968, XIV, 232).
