(Anhingidae; Ϯ Anhinga A. anhinga) Tupí name Anhinga  little head, for an evil spirit of the forests, the devil bird; "Le genre de l'Anhinga.  ... Tous les Oiseaux de ce genre ont sur les bords du bec une dentelure fine & peu apparente.
