(Fringillidae; † Hawaii Mamo D. pacifica) Gr. δρεπανη drepanē or δρεπανηις drepanēis sickle < δρεπω drepō to pluck; "One of the largest (23cm) Hawaiian honeycreepers with huge sickle-shaped bill."
