PSOPHIA
(Psophiidae; Ϯ Grey-winged Trumpeter P. crepitans) Gr. ψοφος psophos  noise, any inarticulate sound; "makes a strong noise with its mouth, which it answers by a different noise from its belly, as if it came from the anus" (Pennant 1773) (see Agami); "84. PSOPHIA.  Rostrum cylindrico-conicum, convexum, acutiusculum, mandibula superiore longiore.  Nares ovatæ patulæ.    crepitans. 1.  PSOPHIA.  ...  Habitat in America meridionali.
