(Estrildidae; Ϯ Australian Zebra Finch T. castanotis) Gr. ταινια tainia  band; -πυγιος -pugios  -rumped  < πυγη pugē  rump; "rump white; upper tail-coverts jet black, each feather having three large and conspicuous oval spots of white" (Gould 1865); "XIX.
