TYPE SPECIES: Myiozetetes inornatus Lawrence 1869 ... ETYMOLOGY: It is appropriate that this unique Venezuelan endemic be named for the Phelps family (the late William H., the father; Billy, the son; and Billy's wife, Kathy) in recognition of their monumental contribution to our understanding of the ornithology of Venezuela, a tribute long overdue" (W. Lanyon 1984).
