Bec très-haut, très-comprimé, convexe, à arête vive, en lame saillante et très-convexe, comme dentée; la mandibule inférieure courte, peu haute, obtuse; narines arrondies, percées en avant d'une membrane poilue, couvrant des fosses nasales peu saillantes; joues emplumées; tarses hauts, robustes, à scutelles en plaque; ailes amples, concaves.
