(Monarchidae; Ϯ Magpie-lark G. cyanoleuca) Mod. L. grallinus with stilts < L. grallae stilts < obsolete gradula little step < gradus step; "135. GRALLINE, Grallina. Bec grêle, droit, un peu arrondi, alongé, convexe en dessus; mandibule supérieure courbée et échancrée à la pointe. — Tarses alongés. — Queue médiocre. — Ailes longues, arrondies. — Ongles antérieurs très-petits; le postérieur très-fort, trés-crochu. Esp. nouv. (I) ... (I) GRALLINE NOIRE ET BLANCHE, Gallina [sic] melanoleuca. ... habite la Nouvelle-Hollande." (Vieillot 1816); "Grallina Vieillot, 1816, Analyse, p. 42.
