(Rallidaesyn. Rufirallus Ϯ Chestnut-headed Crake R. castaneiceps) Gr. negative prefix αν- an- ; ουρα oura  tail; Mod. L. limnas  rail  < Gr. λιμνας limnas  of the marsh  < λιμνη limnē  marsh; "ANUROLIMNAS, gen. n.  Digito medio cum ungue longiore quam culmen, rectricibus haud evidentibus, mollibus, decompositis, a tectricibus caudalibus celatis, distinguendum.  Typus A. castaneiceps (Scl. & Salv.)" (Sharpe 1893); "Anurolimnas Sharpe, Bull.
