PSEUDOSEISURA
(Furnariidae; Ϯ White-throated Cacholote P. gutturalis) Gr. ψευδος pseudos  false; σεισουρα seisoura  bird mentioned by Hesychius and subsequently identified as a wagtail Motacilla.  Heinrich Reichenbach was a proponent of the quaternary or natural system which grouped all birds in interlocking symmetrical circular patterns, and here linked the cacholote with the yellow wagtails; “XCIPseudoseisura RCHB. Nat. Syst. d. Vögel t. suppl.   ...   So wie Clitonyx die Gattung Budytes, so schient diese die Gattung Motacilla zu vertreten, daher der Name.    387. P. gutturalis (Anabates — D'ORBG. LAFR. syn. n. 6. Voy. 257. 136. pl. 55. 3.) RCHB. t. DXXV. 3630.   ...   Der ziemlich große Vogel lebt bachstelzenartig an Bächen in stets lebhafter Bewegung, um Insecten zu suchen.   ...   In der Ruhe sitzend, sträubt der Vogel seine Haube und singt zart und sehr angenehm, ein trillerndes Pfeifen, fast wie Anumbius und Furnarius oder wie die Bachstelzen bei uns.” (Reichenbach 1853); "Pseudoseisura Reichenbach, Handb. spec.
